A Digital Asset Security (security token) is broadly defined as a security (investment contract) that is represented digitally by a token on the blockchain.

This digital format presents all the same rights as a traditional security, however, it offers operational efficiencies in regards to how the digital security can be held and subsequently moved/traded.
