What are private securities?
Private securities describes a range of assets, many of which have traded counterparts, such as equity, debt, and real estate securities. Private securities are not available for trading on a secondary market like the New York Stock Exchange or NASDAQ, nor offered on a continuous basis such as a mutual fund.
When a private company or fund seeks to raise capital for operations, this is typically done through a private securities offering structured to meet the needs of the issuer. Traditionally, Venture Capital and Private Equity funds are the main source of funding here.
Securitize Markets aims to broaden access to this marketplace for the mutual benefit of investors and issuers.
