It is important you make sure you are sending USDC on the correct blockchain before sending any funds. USDC on each blockchain represents the same currency, however, USDC cannot be transferred amongst blockchains. Ethereum, Avalanche, Polygon, and Binance all use the same configuration, however, they do not operate as one blockchain and USDC cannot move across them. If USDC is sent on the wrong blockchain, the correct wallet address will not receive the funds. USDC on Ethereum is different from USDC on Avalanche. 

Any USDC sent on the wrong blockchain may not be retrieved and will not be refunded.
