Getting Started with AVAX

In this article, we will walk you through the steps needed to use MetaMask with Avalanche and AVAX.

The Avalanche blockchain can be added to Metamask by adding the Network in MetaMask manually or by using a service like Umbria.

Here’s how to add Avalanche to MetaMask manually: 

First, login to MetaMask. Next, select the Ethereum Mainnet dropdown menu as seen below, and click “Add Network.”

This will take you to the following screen, where you will need to enter specific Avalanche Network credentials to get up and running.

Enter the following credentials:

• Network Name: Avalanche Network
• New RPC URL: https://api.avax.network/ext/bc/C/rpc
• ChainID: 43114
• Symbol: AVAX
• Explorer: https://snowtrace.io/ 

Now, your screen should look like this:

Click “Save,” and you will see a new screen that looks like this: 

Nice work! You have successfully set up MetaMask to use the Avalanche Network and can now connect to Web3 Crowdfunding on Securitize Markets.

Here’s how to add Avalanche using a service like Umbria: 

Select the Avalanche Network, then click “Connect your wallet to the correct network”. 

Next, your MetaMask wallet will popup asking you to Approve the Network addition.  

Once approved, your MetaMask wallet will be able to utilize the Avalanche Network!
